John Quincy Adams, the sixth president of the United States, was sworn into office with a book of US laws to maintain separation of the church and state.The United States was founded on the principle of the separation of church and state and therefore, they should not play a role in politics, and if they do then they should be taxed. Churches and even other religious institutions should be stripped of their tax exempt status due to homophobic displays and harassment.
