99% of any Social Security shortfall would be eradicated simply by removing the existing Social Security "cap".
Social Security is simply an insurance policy sold to us by congress wherein congress and congress alone, sets the premiums. These premiums have not been increased since 1990, defying 20+ years of inflation. Instead we have a congress demanding we work more years as they change the retirement age.
401k's, IRA's and other stock-market related savings plans remain uncertain. ONLY Social Security, even with the rising costs of Parts A, B, D, et.al., give consumers some degree of certainty and must be saved.
