The H1B visa program addressed a shorage of USA workers, allowing corporations to more easily replace USA tech workers with lower cost overseas workers. However there is no longer a shortage of USA workers. Unemployment in these industries is rampant . It is not merit based, it depresses wages, it discourages USA students from persuing careers in IT and technology, the H1B holders themselves can be treated as "indentured servants", and they often return to their country to compete with USA companies. If this administration cares about USA jobs it should end this and similar visa programs.
