Drug Prohibition is a failed policy that causes crime. Recreational drugs should be taxed, and medicinal drugs deregulated. All money that is currently (over $15,000,000,000.00/yr federally) used to enforce drug laws should be diverted to education and reduction of national debt, and to pay for nurse or pharmacy school tuition for any former DEA or narcotics agent. All medication should be obtainable without a doctor's permission. If a person can demonstrate by periodic written (or oral) test that he or she is fully aware of the dangers associated with the use or abuse of a substance, including awareness of potential drug interactions, there should be no further restriction of that person's freedom to obtain the substance. All political prisoners should be freed.
