Civil Asset Forfeiture is illegal and is theft.
According to the Constitution, all search and seizure requires a specific warrant signed by a judge.
However, civil asset forfeture is where Criminal enforcement officials can legally take your possessions without having to prove that you committed any crimes.
This is a clear violation of the 4th amendment. Forfeiture of any kind requires proof of a crime committed.
Sign this petition to require all forfeiture cases to prove as laid out in the 4th amendment that a crime was committed, and to charge the owner for the crime.
