Concurrent receipt of VA Disability and Military Retirement for all rated Military Vets who are eligible.

Created by M.A. on January 29, 2014

Please enact a change to the current law which prohibits Retired Military personnel from collecting Retirement Pensions and VA Disability Compensation if their VA Rating is less than 50%. This law needs to be changed to make this a fair system. There is no reason a veteran with a 50% rating should be entitled to monetary VA Disability compensation in addition to their pension and a Veteran with a 20% VA Rating only gets 20% of their pension tax free. The system as it is now mandates Rated Disabled Veterans to have their entitlement percentage of less than 50% deducted from their pensions and made tax free. The system should treat all rated veterans equally and compensate both according to their respective rating with tax free monetary compensation and not just untaxed percentages.
