What do you call a business that consistently overcharges its customers for an inferior product, hires the wrong people and pays them above-market wages and yet still manages to be not only one of the most profitable and valuable franchises in its industry but in the world? The Dallas Cowboys together with the NFL has what amounts to a blanket exemption from the antitrust laws allowing them to act like a single business entity rather than a collection of independent businesses that cooperate sometimes but compete at other times. If Congress can explicitly grant the NFL an antitrust exemption, it can also explicitly withhold that exemption for a certain North Texas-based team that has been mismanaged for 16 years, which should directly result in the firing of Jerry Jones as General Manager.
