Condemn the actions of flag stomping on the grounds of Valdosta State University.

Created by K.G. on April 19, 2015

Valdosta State University allowed for three days personal to stomp and walk on the American Flag within the confines of their property which resulted in the arrest of an Air Force veteran who was attempting to remove the flag for proper disposal despite these actions being illegal.

According to the United States Code, 2011 Edition, Title 18, Part 1, Chapter 33, Section 700 states that

(a)(1) Whoever knowingly mutilates, defaces, physically defiles, burns, maintains on the floor or ground, or tramples upon any flag of the United States shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for not more than one year, or both.

We demand that the administration of Valdosta State University and the campus police officer be held accountable for not taking the appropriate actions.
