The Korean comfort women were physically raped by the Japanese. Recently, the Korean Foreign Minister agreed to a settlement of $1 billion yen in non-official reparations given as humanitarian contribution and a simple new apology in exchange for a South Korean promise not to press any future claims for the Japanese committing such horrible and dastardly war crimes against the Comfort Women of Korean and other nations, including China and the Philippines. The Japanese government will now ignore all further seeking of acknowledgement and reparations for the the publicly but not officially acknowledged raping of thousands of women decades ago with only 46 of them alive today in their 80s and 90s.
