On April 22, 2014, the Sultan of Brunei put into effect sharia law that provides “stoning to death” as the penalty for rape, adultery, sodomy, extramarital sexual relations (for Muslims), defamation of the Prophet Mohammed, insulting any verses of the Koran and Hadith, blasphemy, and declaring oneself a prophet or non-Muslim.
So far the Obama administration has not said a word about the human rights violations that this law imposes. In fact, John Kerry, Secretary of State, has visited Brunei twice last year and Obama has met with the Sultan.
Furthermore, it forces Brunei's Christians and Buddhists to also obey Sharia law.
Please cut all ties to Brunei until they change these laws.
