We call on the current president, Barack Obama, and the president-elect, Donald Trump, to condemn the growing human rights violations in Aleppo, Syria.
As pro-Syrian regime forces are taking control of the city of Aleppo, there are increasing reports of on-spot executions by civilians, not to mention the many civilians killed by intense bombing. UN chief, Ban Ki-moon, has expressed “grave concern” over reports of atrocities against a large number of civilians, including women and children.
The United States should take a strong stance against torture and human rights violations, and the president and president elect should not only be speaking out against such violations, but should be using every diplomatic means possible to intervene on behalf of the innocent Syrian civilians.
