Since 2006, Israel and Egypt have placed a full blockade (air, land, and sea) on the Gaza strip. More than simply keeping people in, this is a human rights violation. This blockade has left thousands of people in Gaza forced to rely upon international aid, and about 70% of people in Gaza live off of a dollar or less a day. Up to 90% of water supplied to the residents of Gaza is not fit for consumption. Over 70% of people in Gaza rely on international aid, and over 50% of people in Gaza gain access to running water only for a few hours every four to five days. The blockade has harmed Gaza's economy and thrust many residents into absolute poverty.
This petition urges the Obama Administration to publically CONDEMN Israel and Egypt's blockade of the Gaza strip.
