Condemn the legislative efforts in Kansas and Arizona allowing doctors to withhold vital information from pregnant women

Created by J.L. on March 10, 2012

The recent legislative attempts to allow doctors to legally hide information about potential birth defects in the fetuses of women in Arizona and Kansas, even at the risk of those women's lives, is unacceptable.
This legislation not only denies women their legal right to be informed about their medical needs, but also puts them at serious risk in the event of life-threatening conditions that may require termination of pregnancies.
The inclusion of a policy of indemnity from malpractice for doctors who incorrectly perform other family-planning practices such as vasectomies and tubal ligations makes it clear that these proposed bills are forcibly promoting a misogynistic, anti-contraceptive agenda. Please condemn these bills to ensure women's reproductive rights are not further degraded.
