Mr. President, I simply can’t wrap my head around the absurdity of the current situation. As the only democracy in the Middle East, Israel stands for good; Hamas acts with evil malice and complete disregard for life. Israel has used its resources – time, money, and the genius of its people – to build a country out of a desert and swamps; Hamas spends its resources on building a network of terror tunnels, and an arsenal of bombs and weapons. Israeli contributions to the fields of medicine, technology, business, art and philosophy are countless; Hamas deprives Gaza’s youth of an education, strips them of their innocence, and brainwashes them to hate Jews and other non-Muslims. And as my family mourns the death of Daniel Tregerman, his killers are proudly celebrating their "achievement."
