Today, we witnessed the atrocities committed by the Turkish police on peaceful protestors in Istanbul. People who were doing nothing more than sleeping on a park were cruelly pepper sprayed and chased away, resulting in the injuries of six people.
This is not the only important fact worth considering. The Turkish government currently has imprisoned more journalists than anywhere else in the world.
