We do not petition here to end gun control legislation. Executive orders and legislative bills, even a repeal of the Second Amendment (performed in accordance with Constitutional law) would all be valid. We do not petition here against any of this, but instead we petition against deception.
The term "assault weapon" is an invention; it is made-up, it is poorly defined. It only perseveres because it's such a useful term- it's similar to the valid term "assault rifle", and creates confusion as such, giving the gun control lobby a powerful tool.
If you can pass a bill, Godspeed, but it must occur under the eye of an educated public- something inhibited by the misleading term "assault weapon". I ask you condemn this term and condemn any bill that rides on its deceptive power.
