We, as Americans, condemn the maltreatment of Dr. Devyani Khobragade, a diplomat from India to the United States. Dr. Devyani Khobragade was allegedly involved in visa fraud and was subject to inhuman treatment by her captors who subjected Dr. Khobragade to strip and body cavity searching for a civil violation.
We invite the Obama administration, echoing the Secretary of State, Mr. John Kerry, to condemn the maltreatment of Dr. Devyani Khobragade and to ensure that those responsible will be tried for the violation if her human rights that they perpetrated.
