One of the most commonly cited motorcycle safety studies is the Hurt Report of 1981. This study is outdated but still one of the only motorcycle collision studies in the U.S.A. We request a spiritual successor to the Hurt Report.
There were 6,678,958 motorcycles registered in the United States as of 2007. In order to create useful crash avoidance techniques and safety gear we must have current information on motorcycle crashes and injuries.
