It makes sense for our elected officials to have passed a full FBI background check, once elected but prior to being sworn into office. Many government officials must pass background checks, so shouldn't the elected ones also? They have top-secret clearance and make important decisions on our behalf. This would eliminate any kind of conspiracies and ensure that those elected are truly serving the United States and her interests as opposed to foreign or outside interests.
