The Kent State tragedy of May 4, 1970, remains a wrongful injustice today. Upon verbal commands to fire deadly rifles into a crowd of unarmed anti-war students, members of the Ohio National Guard fired 67 gunshots and killed four students and wounded nine others, including me. Commanding officers denied shouting orders to fire. Therefore, the cause of the tragedy has remained a mystery until 2007 when a digital recording was revealed including proof of a militaristic command to "fire!" In 2010, this new digital evidence was delivered to Assistant US Attorney General Thomas Perez who promised to conside the evidence. Now it is time for our government to analyze this evidence, pronounce the truth, provide long overdue healing and ensure the martyred students may rest in peace.
