The attacks of September 11 were a crime and should have been investigated as such. Rather, evidence was removed, obvious suspects not questioned, whistleblowers intimidated, fired, or demoted, and those who were involved in what the 9/11 Commision Report deemed failures "in imagination, policy, capabilities, and management" were promoted, and in one case even awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
We need an investigation that will not accuse, but instead seek answers to some of the most baffling questions about that day. Government officials should no longer be allowed to hide behind the "national security" excuse. It is time that they are all ordered to testify under oath and in a public forum. Because, after all, if they have nothing to hide, why would they refuse to cooperate?
