Conduct a thorough and in depth study on why violent crime fell a third in the United States in since 1990.

Created by J.P. on February 20, 2013

The violent crime rate has fallen a third since the 1990s in spite of the
recession. Why?

Was it leaded gasoline? Was it legalized abortion?

Have lower prices on Cocaine and Heroin reduced gang wars and profits? Are
addicts now using cheaper drugs instead, like Meth, Marijuana, and
Pharmaceuticals like Oxycontin?

Do government handouts reduce the desire to commit crime? Is urban planning
making crime more difficult to commit? Is it better security systems? Do the
mentally ill have better pharmaceuticals? Have the statistics been faked?

Was it more policemen? Was it better policing, like Rudy Giuliani did? Are
there just less young people to commit crimes? Are criminals just kept in
prison longer and off the streets? Are harsh prison sentences deterring
criminals?
