Congress shall upon being sworn into office sign up for healthcare plans provided to them by the states for which they represent. The cost of this health care shall be deducted out of the congresspersons salary. The salaries shall not be increased to offset this new expense as this is an expected cost of being an American citizen representing his electorate. The healthcare plan shall be the type specified similar to or the same as the highest level plan available from his representative state to show the congressperson that he is a valued citizen and is a trusted member of the state which he represents. Sitting congressmen and women shall be required to purchase healthcare in a similar manner at the beginning of the new congressional term. There shall be no exceptions.
