Congress, President, Elected Officials to be salaried at the rate of the average American family income.

Elected officials should be interested in bettering the country and not enriching their pockets. The true benefits of being the President or Congressman should be the gratification of doing what's right for the American people. I propose that the salaries and benefits we the American people pay to Congressmen and the President should be the same as what the average American family earns. This has two benefits. 1) These elected officials will be more in tune with what the average American is dealing with. 2) This will align the goals of the elected officials with the average American. Should the President want a raise, he will need to ensure that the average American's wage is increased.
