Congress shall make no law exempting themselves or the Government from the laws of the land.

Created by B.B. on October 02, 2011

Congress passes laws that apply to all citizens of the land, and frequently exempts themselves and other members of government..

Examples: Congress has its own health care system, and pension system which provide much more than what is provided to other citizens. There are many more examples.

If congress believes a law is needed for all citizens, then it should also apply to the members of congress and other members of the government.

If anything congress and the government should be held to a higher standard than the citizens and the government should set an example for the citizens to follow.
