Congress shall not introduce or support a new "Assault Weapons" Ban, and that President Obama should veto any such law.

Created by P.C. on November 15, 2012

I submit to President Obama and Congress that the first Assault Weapons Ban was ineffective at preventing crime, affecting only law abiding gun owners, and a renewed one would be equally ineffective but just as great an assault on our rights.

Instead of promoting legislation directed at violent criminals the anti-gun lobby chose a class of firearms generally indistinguishable to the general public from their military counterparts. This deceptive and dishonest presentation of "common sense" would ban many popular guns for recreational shooters. Contrary to the rhetoric, criminal use is rare: 70% of gun murders involve pistols, and deer hunting rifles are far more powerful than AW’s.

We ask the President to respect the rights of all people and veto any legislation that restricts ours.
