Congress shall publicly conduct the domestic surveillance review

Created by D.S. on September 05, 2013

If there is a system of routine, dragnet surveillance in place, it is only a matter of time before someone in a position to use that system is either a political zealot or simply has more ambition than ruth; and uses this apparatus as a domestic political weapon. Given that the domestic surveillance conducted by the NSA is far more extensive than previously admitted and routine, dragnet surveillance is a necessary tool for any would be tyranny; congress should hold public hearings to determine to what extent it already exists, the risks it poses and what extent the public is comfortable with; dismantling infrastructure if necessary. This review should be public, as it affects us all.
