We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Congress Should Enact a Carbon Fee and Dividend to Reduce the Negative Impacts of Climate Change and Create Jobs

Created by K.G. on November 15, 2016

Global warming is a serious threat to our planet, and it is our moral responsibility to prevent the terrible consequences that it presents for our children and grandchildren. Unfortunately, Congress has done little to address this pressing concern. What Congress should do is pass a Carbon Fee and Dividend, like the one proposed by Citizens Climate Lobby, a non-profit grassroots climate advocacy group. This would put a fee on carbon emissions, and all of the money collected would be redistributed evenly throughout US households. Studies have concluded that this would lead to a 50% reduction of carbon emissions below 1990 levels, the addition of 2.8 million jobs above baseline, and the avoidance of 230,000 premature deaths.
