Mandate that Facebook and Twitter become OPEN SOURCE PUBLIC UTILITIES.
Due to network effects, both of these platforms have established themselves as natural monopolies. Their monopoly positions give them disproportionate control over the public's right to freedom of speech.
Mandating that these platforms become open source public utilities would benefit the public by enabling a multitude of organizations and people to create their own non-censored communication networks that all share access to these common public networks.
Making these platforms open source would also provide the transparency needed to ensure that consumers have an understanding of who is determining the information that they receive and give them control and choices over the sources of information.
