Congress should not be allowed to vote themselves a pay raise, period.

Congress members are voted by the people. However, we still have corrupt members in Congress who do not care about the interests of the American people. Members of Congress receive an annual salary of $174,000 ($223,500 for the Speaker), and will work about 126 days for 2013, yet still were able to vote themselves a 10% pay raise in 2012 for members of Congress. Despite this they somehow get voted in again and again. This causes them to put personal interests in order to get ahead of doing what is right for the country when the US Military were only given a 1.5% pay raise. Congress should only be voted a raise during Presidential Elections so they must prove they are worthy of a raise proven from thier previous term.
