The NRA is classified as a 501(c)(4) "social welfare" organization, with non-profit and tax exempt status. The NRA has unquestionably decreased public safety by lobbying against common-sense gun legislation. This makes us question their status as a social welfare advocate group. The fact that public tax-payers bear the financial burden of harm caused by loose gun regulations makes us question their tax-exempt status. Their bully tactics hold our Congress hostage to the NRA's political agenda rather than allowing law makers to be free to vote their conscience on common-sense gun legislation.
We the people call upon Congress to stand up to these bullies and tell the IRS to END THE 501(c)(4) NON-PROFIT AND TAX EXEMPT STATUS OF THE NRA!
