Until Congress, our governing body, can work together for the good of our Country and our citizens, and not the corporations they represent, we as a country should pay them Minimum wage across the board for the hours/days they work. They should have no additional perks. They should lose any protection officers they have (unless they pay for them personally), they should lose any immunity, and should work what an average person works with limited vacation time.
Congress should not threaten a government shutdown as this affects our countrymen across the board - but they do not have to worry about living day to day as DOD civilians do, as those in the military do as well as there families. Until they can fix the issues they have created, they should be paid minimum wage across the board.
