Congressional Reform Act of 2012

Created by C.L. on January 20, 2013

Congress imposes laws on the rest of us that do not apply to them. Hence, a recent law preventing Congress from engaging in insider trading was recently passed although American citizens have been prohibited for years. Similarly, Congress makes rules like redistricting which help ensure that they keep their jobs. Term limits would prevent a lot of corruption. Finally, congresswomen/men should not be ensured a lifetime annual pay equivalent to their congressional salary for one year of service. Some elements of the reforms proposed are encapsulated in other laws however they are not as absolute.
