Congressional term limits. A constitutional amendment to limit representatives to no more than 12 yrs. in either chamber

Created by M.F. on September 20, 2013

Congressional term limits would improve the legislative process. The current system in place produces career politicians who are more concerned with re-election than governing. The citizens who elect their representative to represent their district/state and the collective good of the country needs someone who can effectively compromise. The representative who is not beholden to a narrow worldview or corporate interest with an endless cycle of fundraising could more effectively legislate to improve the common good of all of the citizens of this country. The President has term limits and the members of the House and Senate should also be held to the same standard. Congressional term limits would also allow more citizens to become more engaged in the legislative process. Thank you!
