We are conservatives, and we are liberals. We are fighting over a great many issues. But, we take a moment to put aside our vast differences to be united against any military action against Syria at all.
Mr. President, this nation is sick of war. We have been at war for more than a decade. There are children we are raising, liberal and conservative alike, who do not even remember what a nation at peace is like. Endless war is caustic to our national character.
We understand that you drew a red line in the sand. We understand that there are those that would counsel you of the geopolitical importance of not backing down. But we, your countrymen, your people, ask that you ignore them. Be strong. Walk away. We don't need this war for America to succeed.
