consider the alteration or removal of the Second Amendment to the Constitution on the grounds it has become superfluous

Created by M.W. on December 17, 2012

It is my position that the 2nd Amendment has become superfluous and unnecessary. We have standing Armed Forces, National Guard, local and federal law enforcement, and need no militia. Let us not become distracted from nor inured by what has become so commonplace in a land where permits for mayhem are so commonplace. Slavery laws were repealed after realizing that some types of ownership are fundamentally wrong for our society. If there is a right to life, should we not help ensure that everyone may enjoy that right? It has been said that one's right to free speech cannot infringe on another's right to privacy.
Current gun laws infringe on everyone's right to life.
Left as is, we as a nation will continue digging holes for the innocent under the guises of "hunting" and "personal freedom".
