Because of our Country's continually demonstrated inability to talk about any pressing issues in a civil or rational manner, and recognizing our inability to invent compromise positions that move any issues forward, in addition to our propensity towards shutting down any difficult national conversations with calls of either "too soon!" or "Why are we wasting time on this now?", We the People propose changing our national anthem to one that more appropriately represents our social and political ideals than Francis Scott Key's "The Start Spangled Banner," namely, "Rock the Boat" by the Hughes Corporation.
