The Constitution states that elected officials will be paid for their service. This must be, their salary divided into a standard, private industry work year: 2080 hours. They will be allotted four weeks vacation, six days of sick leave, five days of bereavement per incident, medical leave per industry standards and Jury Duty as required. Local Town Hall meetings will not exceed 10% of a given work month and travel will be authorized as one round trip plan ticked per month if distance exceeds two hundred miles. Any other absence will be docked from their pay including Campaigning. Flex time is permissible. Federal officials will be entitled to Social Security and Medicare upon retirement eligibility only. No Pension. This is 'Public Service', It is not supposed to be a career.
