Currently federal laws do not protect non-human animals, and that is left to the states. Most states have sufficient laws to prevent the abuse of animals, be it neglect, forced sex, inhumane killing or any other act we may consider abusive, except these laws only pertain to pets. Any animal used for profit, or entertainment often has little to no rights or protection. They can be abandoned, killed, raped, beaten or tortured completely lawfully. Please consider talking a step towards ending animal abuse. They are innocent, victims with no voice of their own.
