consider creating a nationwide Maglev transportation system. Europe, China and Japan already have one. Why shouldn't we?

Europe, China and Japan already have effective, nationwide mass transit. Since we are in the midst of a gas crisis, the train would decrease our dependence on foreign oil while also creating thousands of jobs across the country in the process.
