I think most of us are 100% okay with an elderly citizen driving as long as he/she is capable of such actions. Allowing an elderly citizen with poor health, vision and/or motor skills can present risks to capable drivers on the roads. I propose a system within the DMV, where drivers are tested at several ages, such as 70, 75, 80, 85, 95 and so on. If they can mange to pass a test designed to judge vision, motor skills, psychological preparedness and health, then the drivers can be on their way. We do not wish to insult any of our elderly citizens, but merely remove them from harm's way and from possible risks. This system, would also enlarge the responsibilities of the DMV and, therefore, create more government jobs.
