Jenny McCarthy misled the public for several years with misinformation about the safety of vaccines. Numerous credible health agencies have comprehensively documented the safety of vaccines and a lack of evidence linking vaccines to pervasive developmental disorders such as autism in children. McCarthy has cited and supported fraudulent research, and used her own child's condition to convince families not to vaccinate children against potentially devastating diseases, thus leading to a worldwide increase in vaccine-preventable diseases. McCarthy has not recanted, after such research was widely discredited, and her child's autism diagnosis was called into question. She has perpetuated her crime of child endangerment, as 24% of parents trust celebrity information about vaccines (U. of Mich).
