Given the recent tragedies it is agreeable that something must be done. The following concession is to only be considered in lieu of no further gun bans/restrictions/taxes and is limited to the high caliber Military Style semi automatic rifles.
The concession is: In order to purchase Military Style rifles, the buyer must provide evidence that they own a proper gun safe and will be responsible for keeping the gun in the safe.
It should be a reasonably expectation that a gun owner maintains proper responsibility of their firearms and limit the ability for any person to access them. This is one of the few ideas that could potentially prevent an event like the Sandy tragedy. It is also one of the few ideas that can have an impact on existing guns because it can be used to store other guns.
