consider this idea in order to prevent worldwide damage caused by the ice caps melting in the mid-term and long term

Based on scientific predictions, the ice caps melting will eliminate hundreds of cities and towns throughout the globe, leaving them under water. My idea, briefly put, is to go ahead and make calculations as to what amount of ice is to be melted by 2065-2115 (50 to 100 years from now). Then proceed to cut off the calculated portion of ice and remove it, eliminating the worldwide flood threat as a consequence. At the same time, we could use that very same portion of ice and turn it into drinkable water and cure worldwide thirst.
