Consider John Edward Jones III for appointment to the Supreme Court of the United States.

Created by D.A. on February 15, 2016

The purpose of this petition is merely to recommend to the Administration the consideration of John E. Jones III for appointment to the Supreme Court of the United States.

Jones was appointed as a federal judge by President George W. Bush in 2002 (and unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate ). As Judge of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, his opinions regarding several controversial issues- the defense of scientific literacy (Kitzmiller v. Dover), free speech (Blair V. Shippensburg) and same-sex marriage rights (Whitewood v. Wolf)- amply demonstrate a commitment to jurisprudence untainted by partisan sentiment.

As a Republican, and as an accomplished and apolitical jurist, Jones may now be the most viable nomination to the bench.
