The United States is one of the only civilized countries in the world that has banned all alcohol consumption until the age of 21.
The fact that one can defend this nation in war, vote for public officials, and legally carry a gun 3 years before the right consume alcohol legally is mind blowing. In any event, teens and young adults between the ages of 18-20 will drink alcohol and it is time to reform the law. Countless tax dollars are wasted every year on the arrest of underage adults consuming alcohol. An adult in this country should not be restricted the right to enjoy a glass of wine with dinner, or a beer with friends.
Teaching teens and young adults that alcohol is okay in moderation will help reduce the growing problems in the country. Such is only possible with reform.
