to consider the merits of a more proper & eloquent English in America that minimizes the utilization of the word "like"

Created by H.W. on March 28, 2013

Two Duke University students were having a late night conversation and came to the heart-wrenching conclusion that despite 20 years of high quality English in some of the best schools this nation has to offer, spoken English often lacks refinement, befitting the modern American youth. The use of the obscene filler word, "like" has permeated and pervaded our glorious English language. In order to advance our country and society's perceived intelligence, we strongly encourage President Obama to implement a new way of teaching English, which will provide a stronger basis for a more respectable American English and correct any deviations in American colloquialism, such as saying the word "like" at inappropriate times.
