To consider a national Asteroid Defense system.

Last week an asteroid measuring a few meters across struck Russia , injuring almost 1500 people and damaging countless buildings , because of this I have come under concern that we are very vulnerable to an asteroid strike , we currently don't have any system in place for defense against an asteroid collision with Earth.
If an asteroid the size of last weeks asteroid were to hit a city , It would pose great danger to life , Damage countless buildings and cost great amounts of U.S dollars in damage.
So because of this I suggest the current Administration to look into the idea of possibly having some form of defense system in place against an asteroid strike.
