In 1994 three teenagers were convicted of murdering three young boys in a horrific incident in West Memphis, AR. Despite a complete lack of physical evidence tying any of the teenagers to the crime (and physical evidence potentially tying another man to the crime), police and prosecutors pursued the teenagers as suspects because they had previous minor run-ins with the law and dressed in an unorthodox fashion (wearing black clothing). Two of the men were sentenced to life in prison and one to death. After 18 years in prison declaring their innocence (and the work of thousands of activists) the men were suddenly let out of prison by Arkansas after it acknowledged it did not have the evidence it needed to retry the men and successfully obtain convictions. Please grant the men full pardons.
