Consider reforming the orthography of American English

The orthography, or the system of spelling, of the English language, particularly that of American English, should be reformed and simplified. In comparison with that of most the other European languages, the spelling of English has diverged from its pronunciation to such a considerable degree that, not only is pronunciation not indicative of spelling, spelling is not indicative of pronunciation. This divergency has hampered the ability to learn easily and to use continuously and consistently our spelling for speakers both native and foreign. This reform would be isolated to America because the differences among our natural dialects are not as dramatic as those among British dialects and because efforts by Noah Webster have already created a gap between American and British spelling.
